Kerikeri's favourite (free) family Christmas event
Christmas in the Domain returns to the Kerikeri Domain on Saturday 5 December 2026, and it's shaping up to be the Bay of Islands' most festive night of the year. Presented by Our Kerikeri Community Charitable Trust, this free, family-friendly Christmas event brings the whole community together for an evening of live music, dancing, roving performers and, of course, a very special visit from Santa. Bring a blanket and a picnic, or grab dinner from one of the food stalls, find your spot on the grass and settle in for a night of festive cheer under the Northland summer sky. The celebrations build to the moment everyone's waiting for: the lighting of Kerikeri's giant Christmas tree. Whether it's your first time or it's become a family tradition, Christmas in the Domain is the perfect way to start the festive season in Kerikeri.

What to expect: Bring a picnic blanket, dancing shoes and festive spirit and get ready to enjoy a night of live music and entertainment for the whole family. Food stalls are available, but you are welcome to bring food with you.
Parking: Available in the adjacent streets and car-parking areas. Please be respectful of local resident’s and business’s driveways, accessways and property.
Alcohol Policy: No alcohol will be sold at the event.
Security: NZ Police and the Community Patrol will be on hand.
First Aid: St Johns will be available in case of emergency.
