“The best Christmas gift is to realise how much you already have.”
The Plan for 2021
As a result of the hard working Kerikeri Lions retiring from organising the annual Kerikeri Christmas Parade, we have picked up the reigns. We see Christmas as an ideal opportunity to celebrate our cultural diversity, bring people of all ages together, support local retailers and reflect on the festive season.
We are well into the planning, with a small, dedicated project team working on funding, sponsorship and a concept that will truly bring Christmas to Kerikeri. We are always looking for volunteers, so if you would like to have a small or large roll in this fun project, please get in touch.
Save the date
We are planning a free, carbon neutral Christmas parade, followed by an evening of activities, to be held on Friday 26 November 2021 in the main street (between ANZ Bank and Ngāti Rēhia) from 5.30pm - 9 pm. The early evening event will involve a parade, Santa’s grotto, music, food, craft and gift stalls, late night shopping and loads of entertainment for everyone. If you would like to know more about promoting your business at the parade, click here.
community christmas tree
There will also be a Community Christmas tree with programmable lights placed in the central shopping area. This tree will be lit up at the Christmas parade by the tree sponsor and kept up over summer for all to enjoy. If you would like to know more about becoming the community tree sponsor, click here.
best decorated competition
Throughout the month of December, there will be a competition for the best decorated business, house and street.
